Do I need a rental agreement before booking a rental?

All bookings processed through our platform have a rental agreement attached to them. A written agreement helps you and the owner or property manager cover all terms of service, and clarify outstanding questions.

It’s important that you review the rental agreement before making your payment or submitting your booking request. You can review the document by selecting ‘Rental Agreement’ just above the Request booking button (for booking requests) or the Pay Now button (when you receive a quote).

Remember to:

  • Review the rental agreement to ensure you’re happy with the terms before proceeding with your booking.

  • Send the owner or a property manager any questions you may have. Some owners or property managers may also ask you to sign and send the signed agreement back to them.

Tip: If you book directly with the owner or property manager outside of our platform, ask them to send you a rental agreement outlining the conditions of your stay.

When you submit a payment on our website, you’re agreeing to TripAdvisor Rentals’ Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, and to the property owner's rental agreement via a digital signature.
