What is TripAdvisor’s online booking system?

It’s our payment platform that allows travelers to book and pay securely online. Owners with annual listings have the option to either use this service or manage their bookings offline.

Online booking is popular with travelers because every transaction is covered by our trusted Payment Protection. This offers guests peace of mind and makes them more likely to book with you.

Online booking is also easy to use: you can confirm bookings in one click, manage all your payments in one place and you’ll never have to chase a penny. Plus it gives you a boost up the search results.

How it works

  • Free listing accounts have online booking by default. Annual listing owners need to add payout settings in order to start taking bookings online.

  • For bookings taken online, we initiate the transfer of the guests’ money approx. 24 hours after the check-in date stated on the booking confirmation. This happens on business days only (no weekends and official holidays).

  • All online bookings are subject to a 3% processing fee .

  • You can choose whether to receive payments via PayPal or bank transfer. Please note: bank transfers can take 3-5 UK working days to arrive.

Once you are set up to receive online payments, make sure that you’ve got your prices, damage deposit and booking policies updated.
